Bengaluru, June 7: AIESEC in Bengaluru conducted the fifth consecutive edition of Stand By Her at Andrahalli Government School, focusing on menstrual hygiene, health awareness and dignity for women and young girls in the community.
The initiative brought together more than 650 women and young girls, making it the largest Stand By Her project conducted by AIESEC in Bengaluru in the past four years. Participants received a year-long supply of sanitary pads through a collaboration with the World of Women Foundation.
More than 20,000 sanitary pads were distributed as part of the initiative, with each participant receiving a comprehensive menstrual hygiene kit designed to support hygiene, comfort and dignity throughout the year.
Beyond distribution, the programme focused on education and awareness. Volunteers conducted sessions on the proper use and disposal of sanitary products, nutrition and health during menstruation, and busting myths and taboos surrounding periods.
Through Stand By Her 2026, AIESEC in Bengaluru sought to address period poverty while encouraging open conversations around menstrual health. The initiative reflects the organization’s focus on youth-led action and sustainable community impact, working towards a future where menstrual health is treated as a basic right rather than a privilege.
The event was run by AIESEC in Bengaluru for the fifth consecutive year.
