Dhanbad’s renowned environmentalist and agricultural enthusiast, Ravi Kumar Nishad, popularly known as “The Tree Man,” received special blessings and appreciation from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Hemant Soren during a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office in Ranchi on June 2, 2026.
During the meeting, Ravi Kumar Nishad and his team presented the Chief Minister with a world-famous Miyazaki mango, known for its premium value of up to approximately ₹3 lakh per kilogram. The rare fruit was organically cultivated at the agricultural research centre of Jai Dharti Maa Foundation, located at Dharjori Mor in Dhanbad.
The presentation highlighted the possibilities of advanced and organic fruit cultivation in Jharkhand and demonstrated that even a coal-producing region like Dhanbad has significant potential for high-value agricultural production.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren appreciated Ravi Kumar Nishad’s continuous efforts over the past 15 years in the fields of agriculture and environmental conservation. He praised the successful cultivation of the Miyazaki mango in Dhanbad and observed that such achievements demonstrate the immense agricultural potential of Jharkhand’s soil.
The Chief Minister also extended his best wishes to Jai Dharti Maa Foundation for its continued work in the state. He appreciated the foundation’s commitment towards its ambitious 1 Crore Tree Plantation Campaign and its efforts to create environmental awareness and develop environmentally conscious communities.
During the interaction, emphasis was also placed on the foundation’s initiatives for tribal communities and rural farmers. The organisation has been conducting agricultural training workshops for just ₹1 by reaching villages directly and providing farmers with practical knowledge about fruit and vegetable cultivation, modern agricultural techniques, and self-employment opportunities.
The objective of these initiatives is to empower farmers, encourage sustainable agriculture, and help transform villages into self-reliant communities.
Expressing his gratitude, Ravi Kumar Nishad said that the blessings and encouragement received from the Hon’ble Chief Minister would prove to be a landmark moment for Jai Dharti Maa Foundation. He stated that the foundation is working across Jharkhand to organise agricultural and self-employment training programmes with the vision of making every village self-reliant.
Ravi Kumar Nishad further assured the Chief Minister that the foundation is working with determination towards its vision of transforming Jharkhand into a “Fruit State”, promoting fruit cultivation, organic farming, environmental conservation, and rural employment.
