The initiative, themed “My Village, a Healthy and Prosperous Village,” began on Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14) and will run until Labour Day (May 1). It will conclude with the distribution of Family Health Cards to company workers and their families.
The formal launch event took place in Deoli on April 20, attended by local leaders including MLA Rajeshji Bakane and former MP Ramdasji Tadas, along with health and administrative officials. Company representatives Director Deepakji Sumad and Vice President Shyamji Mundada were also present.
The health cards are being distributed across several villages, including Deoli, Selsura, Padegaon, Chikni, Wadad, and Dighi Bopapur, targeting families living near the company’s operations.
This programme is part of SMW Ispat’s broader rural development efforts. Over the past decade, the company has undertaken multiple CSR initiatives focused on healthcare, education, sports, and skill development. In the last year alone, it has expanded outreach through tree plantation drives, distribution of school supplies, and support for local sports events.
Additionally, the company has contributed infrastructure and resources to schools and healthcare facilities—such as water dispensers, computers, uniforms, and furniture—while continuing to play a significant role in local employment and community development.
