Hanshi Premjit Sen Spearheads KIO Seminar, Reinforcing Excellence in Karate Officiating
The KIO Referee & Coaches Seminar was successfully conducted at the Conference Hall of Cotton University on the occasion of the 19th UKAA State Karate Championships 2026.
The seminar focused on upgrading technical knowledge, refining refereeing standards, and strengthening coaching methodologies. It brought together referees, coaches, and karate practitioners, creating a structured platform for learning, discussion, and practical application aligned with modern competitive karate.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Hanshi Bharat Sharma, President of Karate India Organisation, whose continued support and vision have been instrumental in strengthening the foundation of karate across the country.
The seminar was conducted by Hanshi Premjit Sen, President of Karate Do Association of Bengal and Chairman of Karate India Organisation. A senior and respected figure in Indian karate, Hanshi Sen is widely recognised for his technical expertise, disciplined approach, and consistent contribution towards the development of athletes, referees, and coaches across the country. His sessions highlighted precision in officiating, clarity of rules, and the importance of maintaining the true spirit and integrity of karate.

Special appreciation is extended to Sensei Nagen Bongjang, General Secretary of the Unified Karate Association of Assam (UKAA), who served as the main organiser of the event and played a key role in its successful execution.
Sensei Mutum Bankim Singh, Treasurer of Karate India Organisation, was invited as the Guest of Honour and graced the occasion with his presence.
The programme was organized with the active cooperation of UKAA officials and members, ensuring smooth coordination alongside the championship.
The initiative reflects a continued effort to elevate the standards of refereeing and coaching in karate and to promote structured growth of the sport.
