Bengal Karate Team Shines Internationally with 14 Medals at Malaysia Championship
The players of the Karate Association of Bengal (KAB) delivered an outstanding performance at the 15th Silent Knight Championship, held from 16th to 20th April 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the banner of the Malaysia Karate Federation. Competing against strong international opponents from various countries, the Bengal contingent showcased remarkable discipline, determination, and skill on the global stage.
KAB returned home with an impressive tally of 1 Gold, 3 Silver, and 10 Bronze medals, marking yet another milestone in Bengal’s rising presence in international karate.
At the heart of this success is Hanshi Premjit Sen (8th Dan Black Belt), President of the Karate Association of Bengal, whose leadership and international experience continue to elevate the team’s competitive standard. A respected international Referee and Judge, Hanshi Sen has built a culture centered on discipline, precision, and fearless performance. His consistent efforts are shaping Bengal into a recognized force in global karate.
General Secretary Joydeb Mondal played a vital role in ensuring seamless coordination and team management throughout the championship.
Team Manager Subhas Mitra efficiently supervised on-ground operations, maintaining discipline and smooth execution during the event.
Coach Shabaz Khan kept the athletes mentally and physically prepared with focused training and strategic guidance, significantly contributing to the team’s success.
KAB officials Rana Sarkar and Prasonjit Chakraborty represented as referees, while the support and guidance of Anil Rai and Ikthar Hussain further strengthened the squad.
