The dedicated Ministry of AYUSH, elevated to full ministry status in 2014, has driven a decade of expansion — and the numbers tell the story. India's AYUSH market has grown from around USD 2.85 billion in 2014 to roughly USD 26.5 billion in 2026, an almost tenfold rise in twelve years, reflecting both rising public demand and sustained governmental support.

The flagship National AYUSH Mission (NAM) is designed to deliver cost-effective, universally accessible AYUSH services by upgrading hospitals and dispensaries, co-locating AYUSH facilities within community and primary health centres, and strengthening education and quality infrastructure. The Union Budget 2026 allocated around ₹4,408 crore to the Ministry of AYUSH, funding the modernisation of AYUSH education, the expansion of wellness centres, and stronger research, standardisation, and quality assurance — alongside the establishment of new All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) colleges. Globally, too, India's leadership is being recognised, from the WHO's Global Traditional Medicine Strategy for 2025–2034 to the Delhi Declaration co-hosted by the WHO and India's Ministry of AYUSH, which set international benchmarks for Ayurveda's role in universal health coverage.
The government's ambition is clear: to make AYUSH not a fringe alternative, but a household name — a first, trusted choice for wellness in every Indian family, delivered as close to their doorstep as possible.
The last mile: from centres to homes
For all this progress, one challenge remains stubborn — the last mile. Physical wellness centres, however numerous, cannot reach every household, every busy professional, or every family in a remote town on the day they need guidance. By onboarding over 100 credentialed AYUSH doctors and vaidyas at launch, the platform ensures that the guidance a family receives comes from qualified professionals — directly addressing the biggest barrier that has long held ordinary people back from traditional medicine: not knowing whom to trust. Layered on top is technology designed to make care continuous and preventive, in keeping with the very spirit of AYUSH, which treats the whole person and the whole way of living rather than a single symptom.

The government is building the institutions, the funding, and the last-mile centres.
