From a Five-Room Ayurveda Hospital to an International Rehabilitation Centre: The Decade-Long Journey of Vaidya Healthcare

When Vaidya Healthcare started its operations in 28th August 2014 in Perumbavoor, Kerala, India, it was far from what it is at present - a large rehabilitation center. It consisted of a small rented building with five rooms, six employees and two doctors only. Its vision included creation of a center that would provide rehabilitation and services to patients in India and around the world using evidence-based Ayurveda and rehabilitation practices.

The hospital was unable to benefit from having a branded image or running extensive advertising campaigns when it first opened. In fact, its key strength was much more important - it was based on trust. The first international patients at Vaidya Healthcare came through the trust Dr. Kiran B. Nair earned while practising at another hospital, choosing to continue their treatment with him after he founded his own center. This helped the center earn credibility through results and not advertising.
