Divyanshu Pundir is the founder of Yogi Digitech Private Limited (YPL), a Rishikesh-based digital company founded three years ago that has grown from helping local tourism businesses get online to building its own products. RentZoi, a travel app for Rishikesh, was designed, developed and launched by the YPL team.Tourists arrive wanting a complete trip: hotel, bike, rafting, yoga, camping. Instead, they jump between five apps, waste hours, and make expensive mistakes.
We couldn't unsee it.
The Problem Nobody Solved
Through Yogi Digitech Private Limited , we worked with hotels, bike rental guys, rafting operators, yoga studios, and camping sites across Uttarakhand. Every single one of them said the same thing: "If only there was one platform where travelers could book everything."
That's when it clicked — this wasn't just a customer problem. It was an ecosystem problem. And solving it could change how India's tourism works entirely.
So we built it ourselves.
The RentZoi Idea
RentZoi isn't just a bike rental app. It's a travel super-app — a complete yatra (journey). And it was built by the Yogi Digitech team, the same people who spent years building digital infrastructure for Uttarakhand's tourism businesses.
When a tourist arrives, they don't want five separate problems. They want one solution:
• Book verified hotels
• Rent a bike without WhatsApp chaos
• Reserve rafting safely
• Find yoga studios with real schedules
• Book camping sites
All in one app. Transparent pricing. 24/7 support. That's it. That's the entire idea. And that's what we built.
Why Being in Rishikesh Matters
Here's what most founders don't understand: the best businesses are built by people who live inside the problem.
We're not a startup team in San Francisco making assumptions about Indian tourism. We're literally sitting with hotel owners over chai. We're in the bike rental shops explaining the app to guys who've never used anything beyond WhatsApp. We're on the ground, understanding real constraints and real opportunities — because this is our city.
A venture-backed team would hire consultants to understand this ecosystem. We already lived it.
Yes, everything takes longer from Rishikesh. Finding the right developers is harder. Raising capital is trickier. People assume small cities can't build something big.
They're wrong. And RentZoi is proof of that.
The Expansion Vision
Right now, RentZoi is live in Rishikesh and expanding fast. But the real vision is national.
By 2027, we're in 10 Indian cities — Goa, Kerala, Himachal, Rajasthan. Each destination is different. You can't copy-paste code. You have to understand each ecosystem. That's exactly the kind of work the Yogi Digitech team knows how to do.
That's why understanding Rishikesh first matters. That's the blueprint.
By 2030, RentZoi is how Indians plan their travels. Not five separate apps. Just RentZoi.
That's the ₹100 Crore business we're building.
The Honest Truth
Some days I wonder if we should have just grown Yogi Digitech. Safe. Profitable. No risk.
But then a traveler books their entire trip in 10 minutes. They message saying it was the best yatra because everything just worked. And that makes the hard days worth it.
The real challenge? Getting enough travelers so hotels care. Getting hotels so travelers discover it. Classic chicken-and-egg.
But we've seen it work in Rishikesh. We're confident it scales nationally.
Why We Built This
People ask why I stepped back from a successful agency to build a startup. Honestly? Because watching tourists waste time and money jumping between apps bothered me more than building another profitable company.
Because Indian tourism deserves better digital infrastructure.
Because the idea of a travel super-app built by a team that actually lives inside the tourism ecosystem — not consultants, not outsiders, but the Yogi Digitech team from Rishikesh — feels like exactly the right answer to the right problem.
That's our journey.
Now let's see if we can change how millions of Indians travel.
