Pune-based Scale Arts in has built its business specifically around scale model miniatures, creating a dedicated destination for automobile enthusiasts and collectors rather than treating scale models as one category within a much larger product catalogue.
Led by founder Vishal Bendre, the company currently offers more than 2,500 different SKUs, covering a broad selection of automotive models and manufacturers.
A key part of Scale Arts in’s positioning is its relationship with established international brands. The company serves as an official and exclusive distributor for several prominent names in the scale model industry, helping bring recognized Japanese and European manufacturers to Indian collectors.
For collectors, these relationships can provide an important element of confidence. Scale modelling is a hobby where details matter, and collectors often pay close attention to manufacturers, licensing, scale, design accuracy and product specifications.
A specialist platform can therefore provide a more focused buying environment than a general marketplace.
Scale Arts in’s business also extends beyond bringing international products into India. The company has developed models specifically for the Indian market, becoming the first Indian brand to make Indian car scale models exclusively for Indian consumers.
Among the notable examples are the Ambassador, Gypsy and many more Indian-market models. These products represent an attempt to capture vehicles that have a particular connection with Indian automotive culture and history.
The initiative also reflects a wider understanding of collecting: not every desirable model has to come from an international automotive brand. Some vehicles become important because of the memories, cultural significance or history associated with them.
For Scale Arts in, the collector is therefore at the centre of its product strategy.
Its catalogue includes models from different automotive traditions, allowing enthusiasts to build collections around individual brands, vehicle categories, scales or personal interests.
The company’s specialist focus is particularly relevant as the hobby continues to attract enthusiasts who approach collecting in different ways. Some collectors concentrate on premium larger-scale models, while others build extensive 1:64 collections or combine models with display environments and dioramas.
This diversity requires more than simply having products available. It requires understanding the collecting community and continuing to expand the range according to its interests.
Scale Arts in is also exploring additional products specifically for Indian consumers while continuing to work with established international manufacturers.
Based in Warje, Pune, the company is building its presence around three key areas: specialist knowledge, international brand access and products relevant to Indian automobile enthusiasts.
As scale model collecting becomes more established in India, authenticity and specialist access are likely to become increasingly important parts of the buying experience.
For collectors, the objective remains simple: finding models that are worth adding to the collection and knowing that they come from a specialist platform focused on the hobby.
