From Bhopal to the National Stage
Umanga completed her schooling at St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Bhopal, before pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Networking from ABV-IIITM, Gwalior. She currently works as a Cloud Engineer at Google and is based in Bengaluru.
Her transition from the technology sector to the pageant stage reflects her belief that professional success and personal aspirations can go hand in hand.
Crowned Miss Universe Madhya Pradesh 2026
Umanga earned the opportunity to represent her state after being crowned Miss Universe Madhya Pradesh 2026 at the grand finale held in New Delhi on 19 June 2026.
The state-level competition tested contestants across several parameters, including communication skills, confidence, personality, runway presentation and overall stage presence.
“This crown is not just a title for me; it is a responsibility to proudly represent Madhya Pradesh on the national stage,” said Umanga.
A Voice for Madhya Pradesh
At the national competition, Umanga hopes to introduce audiences across India to the diverse identity of Madhya Pradesh—from its cultural heritage and natural landscapes to its progressive outlook.
Her areas of interest include women’s empowerment, wildlife conservation and social harmony, causes she hopes to promote through the platform.
“Representing Madhya Pradesh is both an honour and a responsibility. I want people to see the strength, culture and values of my state through my journey,” she added.
A Journey Built on Discipline
Beyond academics and her professional career, Umanga has maintained a strong focus on fitness and personal development. Through consistent workouts, balanced nutrition and lifestyle discipline, she transformed her fitness journey and reduced her weight from 72 kg to 58 kg.
A former district-level badminton player, she continues to pursue an active lifestyle and enjoys running, painting and fitness in her free time.
She credits her parents and family for providing constant encouragement and support throughout her journey.
Inspired by former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, Umanga hopes to inspire young women to step beyond limitations, believe in their abilities and pursue their ambitions with confidence.
With the Miss Universe India 2026 finale approaching, Umanga Kumawat continues her journey with the pride of Madhya Pradesh on her shoulders—and the ambition to turn her national platform into an opportunity to inspire, represent and create a meaningful impact.
