Ramakrishna Mission Honours Soumyabrata Sengupta for Contribution of More Than ₹50 Crore

The recognition acknowledges Sengupta's association with the Ramakrishna Mission and his commitment to supporting initiatives centred on education, social welfare, humanitarian service and the upliftment of communities.

Speaking on the occasion, Sengupta said:

An author and researcher in journalism, media and contemporary affairs, Sengupta has worked across corporate communications, advertising, publishing and research. He has also authored books examining technology, conflict, society and contemporary India.

His association with the Ramakrishna Mission comes against the backdrop of his stated desire to place service, scholarship and social contribution at the centre of his public life.

The Ramakrishna Mission, founded on the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda, has for decades undertaken work in education, healthcare, rural development, relief and rehabilitation, spiritual development and social service across India and abroad.

The honour marks another chapter in Sengupta's association with the organisation and his philanthropic engagement with causes connected to education, humanitarian welfare and service to society.
