Empowering Through Education and Dialogue
The outreach program included a series of expert-led interactive sessions and talks, focusing on:
🔹 Female Hygiene & Health:
A detailed session addressed various aspects of women’s reproductive and personal hygiene, menstrual health, preventive healthcare practices, and access to basic hygiene products. Participants were encouraged to adopt sustainable hygiene habits and were educated on early detection of common health issues such as urinary tract infections, cervical health concerns, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.
🔹 Psychiatric Disorders Among Females:
Mental health, an often neglected aspect of women’s well-being, took center stage as speakers delved into common psychiatric disorders faced by women, such as anxiety, depression, postpartum disorders, and stress-related challenges. The session emphasized breaking the stigma around mental health, promoting early intervention, and offering coping strategies and support mechanisms.
Community Engagement and Participation
The event saw enthusiastic participation from:
- Students and faculty members of Saraswati College
- Local community members and women from surrounding areas
- Volunteers from NSIIC and NIMS University
Interactive Q&A sessions, feedback exchanges, and health awareness materials helped bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and community understanding. The program also served as a platform to initiate dialogue on gender-sensitive healthcare and access to mental health support in rural and semi-urban areas.
A Commitment Beyond Celebration
Speaking about the initiative, a spokesperson from the organizing team said:
“At NIMS University, we believe true empowerment begins with awareness and education. Events like this outreach program not only strengthen community bonds but also extend the impact of academic institutions beyond campus walls. We aim to create long-term change by fostering informed, confident, and healthy women.”
This outreach program is part of the university’s broader mission to integrate academic excellence with social responsibility and innovation-driven community initiatives. The NIMS Sushma Innovation and Incubation Centre (NSIIC) continues to play a pivotal role in launching such initiatives that promote societal well-being and inclusivity.
