Munduparamba auto driver's suicide: Ee Yugam and IPTA demands impartial probe into MVD's role

In a message shared on social media shortly before his death, Shoukath alleged that MVD officials refused to issue a fitness certificate for his auto-rickshaw - his only source of livelihood - after he declined to pay a bribe. He wrote that his direct application at the MVD was rejected because he did not use an agent, and that repeated visits to agents' offices over the past ten months had yielded no result. "I have no other options left," he wrote, and urged people to seek justice for him so others would not suffer similarly.

Ee Yugam, IPTA Dr Arun said the association will hold a protest outside the DYSP office Kanjirappalli on [31.8.2026] to press for an independent inquiry and for action against any officials found guilty of misconduct. Same way joint RTO Kanjirappalli Sreejith is also found taking photos of vehicls in his private phone ( with out information of place date time geography and sending chellans) according to his wish and will to selected people. He is also misusing his official powers."This is a matter of life and livelihood," said a spokesperson for Ee Yugam. "We demand a fair, impartial probe and swift remedial measures so poor working people are not forced into despair."

Local residents and fellow auto-drivers have expressed shock and anger. Several have corroborated long delays and frequent demands for intermediaries when seeking vehicle fitness certificates, saying the process has become costly and opaque for low-income owners.

The MVDs and RTOs are threatening,misusing their power , violating motor vehicle rules and accepting bribe robing poor mass.It should be contempted and such criminals should be imprisoned Dr Arun Kumar said.
