MUMBAI, 10 October 2026 : The Bombay Advocates’ Cricket Association is hosting the 38th All India Advocates Cricket Tournament in Mumbai from 17 to 24 October 2026. It is being held with the Advocates’ Association of Western India, the Bombay Bar Association and the Bombay Incorporated Law Society under the aegis of the Cricket Association of Advocates in India.
Practising advocates from 15 High Courts of India and the Supreme Court of India will meet on eight grounds in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Sixteen teams will take part. Come, support the legal fraternity. The tournament has been held every year since 1989, under the Cricket Association of Advocates in India. A different High Court hosts it each year. Past hosts include Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The week opens at 7:00 am on Saturday, 17 October, at the Main Ground. Teams will assemble, the National Anthem will be played, every registered player will receive a participation medal, and team photographs will be taken. A formal sitting for players, guests and sponsors will also be held at the D.Y. Patil Law College Auditorium. The date of that sitting will be announced. Entry is by accreditation. Matches will be played until 24 October.
The tournament trophy carries the name of the late Adv. Vijay Traymbak Tulpule, a criminal trial lawyer at the Bombay High Court for almost fifty years. He was Government Pleader and Public Prosecutor for Maharashtra from 1998 to 2000, and a Bombay Ranji Trophy probable before he enrolled as an advocate. From 1994 to 1999 he was President and Patron of advocates’ cricket, where he was known as Guruji. He passed away in Mumbai on 29 September 2017. The Bombay High Court held a Full Court Reference in his memory on 17 November 2017.
