“I have been writing poetry for years, but I only started composing music last year,” says Devtrender, Founder of Devtrender Music & Records and Raagix Music and Records. “That repost wasn’t just about numbers. It showed me there was a market for what I was doing.”
The numbers followed. MODI MODI MODI has crossed 13.8 lakh views on Instagram. Devtrender has now produced over 120 original songs, with releases available on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. But the business model is far from typical.
Through his two labels, Devtrender Music & Records and Raagix Music and Records, Devtrender creates what he calls “ultra-luxurious original songs” in six languages: Hindi, English, Punjabi, Spanish, Arabic and Urdu. Much of his work is commissioned: bespoke wedding anthems for couples and signature jingles for brands, alongside his original tribute anthems for public figures.
“We’re not trying to discover the next playback singer,” Devtrender explains. “We’re writing and composing music for people who want something that doesn’t exist yet. A couple getting married wants their love story in a song. A brand wants a sonic identity. A creator wants a theme track. That’s where we come in.”
For wedding anthems, Devtrender writes lyrics, composes melodies and produces full tracks tailored to each couple, often weaving in personal stories and regional languages. The songs are released on streaming platforms, giving clients a professionally produced keepsake.
Brand work follows a similar model. Devtrender creates jingles and sonic branding for companies that want something more distinctive than stock music or generic ad tracks. Working in six languages lets him serve both regional brands and international audiences.
The tribute anthem, the format that started it all, remains at the heart of the catalogue. Devtrender has collaborated with personalities including Ridhima Pathak on the original song “Unscripted”, and continues to create original songs with creators and public figures who want music tied to their personal brand.
Writing, composition and production are handled in-house. Both Devtrender Music & Records and Raagix Music and Records are active music companies, each used as a dedicated vehicle for specific categories of songs and customised projects.
“I’m not interested in scale for the sake of scale,” Devtrender says. “I want every song we put out to be something the client is proud of and something I can stand behind. That’s the only way this works.”
Devtrender began writing poetry in 2016 and is the author of the poetry collection "Poetry Lost in Dehradun". His move into music composition came more recently, building on his background in poetry.
Launched in 2026, the labels are still in their early stages. Devtrender is betting on a premium segment of listeners and brands who want music made personally for them, about something that truly matters to them.
For now, the focus is on building the catalogue, refining the production process, and taking on clients who want something more than a playlist can offer.
