A chartered accountant by qualification, Ranka has built each business around a structural rather than an opportunistic thesis, an unusual approach in three markets where scale is more commonly achieved through relationships and volume.
AIBR: A decade in physical metal
Adishka India Bullion Refinery (aibr.in) trades under the ADISHKA™ mark and is the trade name of Adishka Ventures India Private Limited, headquartered in Mumbai and shipping across India. The business has more than a decade of history in precious metal commodities and operates across multiple states.
Its range spans gold bars, gold and silver coins, and silver articles, supplied to investors, jewellers and institutions. AIBR is also a direct importer of precious metals, a meaningful structural distinction in a market where most regional dealers buy through intermediaries. Importing directly shortens the chain between international pricing and the counter, which affects both margin and the speed at which a dealer can quote.
Purity and price transparency are the company's stated commercial priorities, in a category where the retail buyer cannot independently verify what they are holding. That has pushed the business toward instrument-level disclosure rather than relationship-based selling, including a consumer application, available on Google Play and the App Store, carrying live gold and silver market updates and an up-to-date rate display.
The shift is more consequential than it appears. Rate discovery in Indian bullion has traditionally happened over the phone, between parties who already know each other. Publishing a rate to a screen changes who can participate.
Fincorp Consultancy: The advisory layer
Fincorp Consultancy (fincorpconsultancy.com) is Ranka's Mumbai-based advisory practice, covering the corporate finance and compliance stack: due diligence, investment advisory, tax advisory, valuation, deals and M&A advisory, risk advisory, and business consulting. It also handles secretarial and legal compliance, outsourced CFO engagements, and statutory work including GST and income tax return filing.
Its position in the group is diagnostic. An advisory practice sees, at close range, the specific reasons a fundamentally sound business fails to raise capital is incomplete documentation, unreconciled books, a filing history that does not corroborate the promoter's account of the business. Most of those failures are administrative rather than economic.
Borrowfy: Lending made easier
Borrowfy (borrowfy.in) is Ranka's most ambitious venture and the group's clearest attempt at scale.
The platform is a loan comparison marketplace. According to the company, it lets borrowers compare offers across more than 50 RBI-regulated lenders, with home loan rates advertised from 7.10 per cent*, alongside MSME loans structured around government subsidy schemes, personal loans, gold loans, car loans, GST-linked business credit and loans against property. An application takes around two minutes, the company states, and the platform includes a credit score check and EMI calculator.
The business rests on a specific reading of India's MSME credit gap: that the binding constraint is frequently discovery rather than eligibility. A creditworthy small business that does not know which of fifty lenders has appetite for its profile is, functionally, an unbanked business, not because capital is unavailable, but because the search cost of finding it exceeds what the borrower can spend.
The marketplace structure is a deliberate founding choice with real trade-offs. Rather than lending off its own balance sheet, Borrowfy matches borrower profiles to lender appetite. That forgoes interest-margin economics in exchange for distribution reach, materially lower capital intensity, and a lighter regulatory footprint than an on-book lender carries. It also ties the platform's economics to conversion rather than to credit performance, a different risk profile, and a different set of things that have to go right.
What connects them
Physical metal, professional advice, and digital credit are, on the surface, three unrelated businesses. What links them is a common founding bet: that in each market, the friction is informational. The bullion buyer cannot verify purity. The promoter cannot see why the investor declined. The borrower cannot see which lender would say yes.
Each venture attacks a different instance of the same problem. Whether three can be scaled concurrently remains an open question, the one Ranka does not dismiss.
