The Summit was graced by Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, Hon’ble Finance Minister, Government of West Bengal, as the Chief Guest. His participation underscored the state’s growing focus on engaging directly with technology enterprises, investors and global businesses to accelerate investment and create new avenues for economic growth.
Shri Ravindra Chamaria, Chairman & Managing Director, Infinity Group, was present at the inaugural session and highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between industry and government to attract investments into West Bengal. Encouraging the startup community, he also emphasised the importance of building businesses from Bengal that can compete nationally and globally.
West Bengal Opens Dialogue with Global Enterprises
One of the key highlights of the Summit was an exclusive high-level roundtable chaired by Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, bringing together leading technology companies that have already invested in West Bengal as well as organisations evaluating opportunities to establish or expand their presence in Kolkata.
Representatives from Wipro, Infosys, ANSR, Cognizant, Concentrix, Tredence, Wells Fargo, Northern Trust, ITC Infotech, Accenture, HCLTech, British Telecom (BT), Zinnov, among others, participated in the interaction.
The roundtable provided an opportunity for the participating companies to share their perspectives on operating in West Bengal, investment opportunities, talent availability, infrastructure, ease of doing business and the areas where further industry-government collaboration can unlock growth.
The interaction also reinforced the growing relevance of Kolkata and West Bengal as an emerging destination for GCCs, technology services, digital engineering and innovation-led enterprises.
GCCs, Age-Tech and Eastern India’s Innovation Advantage
Adding another dimension to the Summit, Aninda Das, Vice President – Marketing, Infinity Group, curated and moderated a high-powered session titled:
“The Next Growth Frontier: GCCs, Age-Tech & Eastern India’s Innovation Advantage”
The session brought together leaders from the technology, real estate, senior living, consulting and enterprise ecosystem to explore how the convergence of Global Capability Centres (GCCs), emerging technologies and the rapidly evolving longevity economy can create new growth opportunities for Eastern India.
The panel featured:
- Rajagopal G, Co-Founder, Director & Group CEO, Lifebridge Group
- Soumya Basu Mallik, Head of Service Operations, British Telecom
- Adarsh Narahari, Founder & Managing Director, Primus Senior Living
- Santanu Ghosh, Head – East, Cushman & Wakefield
- Sankar Ghosh, Managing Director – Accenture Global Mid-Market
- Dipankar Mukherjee, Chief of Marketing & Sales, mjunction services limited
- Sundar Ram VG, Partner & CEDA Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) India
The discussion explored how GCCs are evolving beyond traditional cost-arbitrage models, and how Eastern India can leverage its talent pool, strategic geography, infrastructure and emerging innovation ecosystem to become a preferred destination for the next generation of global enterprises.
A significant focus was also placed on Age-Tech and the longevity economy—an emerging opportunity where technology, healthcare, senior living, wellness and financial services converge. The panel discussed how India’s ageing population can create an entirely new technology and innovation ecosystem, and how cities such as Kolkata can potentially become early leaders in this space.
Bengal–Bengaluru: Building a Stronger Economic Bridge
The Summit also highlighted the natural complementarities between Bengaluru and Kolkata—two cities with strong technology, intellectual capital and entrepreneurial traditions.
While Bengaluru has established itself as one of the world's leading technology and innovation hubs, Kolkata and West Bengal offer a compelling combination of high-quality talent, strategic eastern connectivity, emerging GCC opportunities, lower operating costs, established IT infrastructure and access to markets across Eastern and Northeastern India, as well as neighbouring South and Southeast Asian economies.
The growing presence of global enterprises in Kolkata, coupled with renewed engagement between the state government and industry, is creating a stronger platform for the next phase of Bengal’s economic growth.
Infinity Group: Enabling Bengal’s Technology Ecosystem
As one of the pioneers behind the development of Kolkata’s IT and technology ecosystem, Infinity Group has played a significant role in creating infrastructure that has enabled hundreds of national and global enterprises to establish their presence in West Bengal.
Through its portfolio of technology parks and commercial developments, Infinity Group continues to focus on creating future-ready infrastructure for enterprises, GCCs, technology companies and emerging businesses.
The Group’s association with the 4th BCC&I Tech E Summit reflects its continued commitment to strengthening Bengal’s position on the national technology map and creating meaningful platforms for industry, government and investors to collaborate on the state’s next chapter of growth.
The 4th Tech E Summit concluded with a clear message: the next wave of growth will not be defined merely by technology, but by the ability to integrate talent, infrastructure, capital, innovation and policy.
And with stronger industry-government dialogue, growing enterprise interest and a renewed focus on emerging sectors, West Bengal is positioning itself to be an important part of India’s next growth story.
