Signs of Fake Agarwal Packers and Movers: What to Look For?
Fraudulent movers often replicate the brand’s visual assets, colors, and logos on digital listings, making it difficult for an average user to spot the difference at a glance. To avoid handing over household furniture, electronics, and personal heirlooms to an untraceable operator, it is essential to look for the signs listed below.
1. Use a Similar Name but Cannot Prove Their Identity
It has been observed that fraudulent operators frequently utilise slight name modifications like “Aggarwal,” “Agarawal,” or other confusingly similar combinations. Therefore, it is essential for every customer to understand that a familiar-looking name does not automatically establish a connection with the original company. Ask for the company’s legal/business details before hiring them for your upcoming move. If the moving company failed to identify their original identity, you must understand that you were dealing with the fake Agarwal Packers and Movers.
2. Suspicious Website or Domain Name
Fraudulent packers and movers typically rely on creating mirror websites and domain squatting to redirect unsuspecting customers. Common red flags to look for in fake moving companies include:
● Unusual Domain Names: Domain URLs containing extra words, hyphens, or unusual extensions (like .in, .co, or extra keywords instead of the official domain).
● Spelling Variations in Web Addresses: Slight misspellings in the URL bar (like Aggarwal or Agarawal) to mislead people.
● Poor-Quality Content & Missing Pages: Fake movers and packers’ websites include broken links, non-functional tracking tools, or missing “About Us” and legal privacy policy pages.
● Lack of Verifiable Corporate Office Details: Missing physical office address, complete lack of landline support numbers, or listing fake addresses that do not exist on maps.
3. Unofficial Communication Channels & Generic Emails
Fraudulent packing and moving companies utilise unofficial communication channels & generic emails. But the Original Agarwal Packers and Movers Ltd. operates through a centralized corporate contact system:
● Email Addresses: Official communications arrive from domains (@agarwalpackers.com). Be cautious if quotes or move confirmations come from free, generic email services like @gmail.com or @yahoo.com .
● Phone Numbers: Authentic bookings go through established national helplines (such as 9300300300). Fraudulent operators rely solely on unverified mobile numbers or constantly changing WhatsApp contacts.
4. Quotation Looks Too Good to Be True
To entice customers away from legitimate Agarwal Movers, fake movers offer unrealistically low initial estimates. Once your belongings are packed and loaded onto their moving truck, they will hold the goods hostage and demand inflated prices for transport, fuel surges, toll taxes, or unmentioned labor fees before releasing the shipment.
Whereas, the real Agarwal Packers and Movers will not provide you with a quotation without assessing your consignment volume, pickup and final destination, and other relevant moving requirements. After assessing your goods and moving requirements, the real one will provide you with a detailed quotation without any hidden charges, with a clear breakdown of moving services you have demanded.
5. Demanding Payments to Personal Accounts or Cash Upfront
The real Agarwal Packers and Movers will provide a formal, GST-compliant invoice under its registered corporate name. Be alerted if the operator:
● Requests initial deposits or full payment into individual personal bank accounts or personal UPI handles.
● Refuses to provide a written, itemized price breakdown or GST invoice.
● Spurns offering valid risk coverage and details of the goods being transported.
