The Telangana Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists Association (TASLPA) conducted RCI CRE Approved International Level Annual Conference 3rd TASLPACON on 26th, 27th March 2022 in Collaboration with Department of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, Govt. ENT Hospital, Koti, Hyderabad at JN Auditorium, JNTU Campus, Kukatpally, Hyderabad.
Nearly 300 Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists Doctors and Junior Doctors across the country attended the conference to update their knowledge through Scientific sessions and Panel Discussions by Eminent and renowned personalities in the field of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology.
Dr T. Shankar, Superintendent of Govt.ENT Hospital, Koti, Hyderabad was attended as Chief Guest and inaugurated the conference. In his speech, he addressed that now a days, hearing loss is a growing problem. Nearly 10% of the Telangana population is suffering with the Hearing Loss and common public are not aware of the Treatment options and the Specialists like Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists Doctors who provide comprehensive services for the assessment and treatment of Speech and Hearing Problems. He also informed that to fulfil the shortage of manpower and to reach the services of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists, very soon Govt of Telangana is going to start a College of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology with Bachelors Degree and the Govt is also going to recruit the qualified Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists by filling the vacant posts in all the Hospitals. He also told that Govt ENT Hospital, Koti, under the Aarogyasri scheme is conducting free Cochlear Implantation Surgery to the children who are below 3 years of age and born with Hearing Impairment, and providing free Auditory Verbal Therapy (AVT) for 1 year to develop the speech and language skills in children after the surgery. He congratulated the organisers for conducting wonderful Conference and promised that from Govt ENT Hospital, he will extend his full support and cooperation to TASLPA for ever. A souvenir was also released from his hands.
Prof. Dr Satya Mahapatra, RCI Coordinator Eastern Zone 1, Bhubaneshwar attended as Guest of Honour and appreciated team TASLPA for conducting the excellent conference at Hyderabad after COVID. He also told that Hyderabad will be India’s Professional Capital for ASLP profession. TASLPA 2022 Calendar was also released from his hands.
Dignitaries like Dr Rajashekhar form Manipal, Dr Bala Krishnan from Chennai, Dr Prashanth Prabhu from Mysore, Dr Radhika Poovayya from Bangalore, Dr Dattatreya from Mumbai, Dr Ganji Srinivas, Dr Radhika Nallan Acharya, Dr G.Bhavani, Dr Susan G Oommen and Dr D. K. Veena from Hyderabad attended as Resource persons and shared their vast knowledge in the field of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology with the Delegates. All the Resource persons congratulated the efforts of Team TASLPA and blessed the Team for all the good works.

While addressing the gathering, TASLPA Hon’ble Founder and President, 3rd TASLPACON Organizing Chairman Dr Nagender Kankipati, TASLPA Hon’ble Founder and General Secretary, 3rd TASLPACON Organizing Convenor Dr Imad Khan Ruman, 3rd TASLPACON Hon’ble Organizing Secretary Dr N.Madhusudhan Reddy told that TASLPA is the most happening ASLP Association of India, with 510 members from all over the India and World.
They also told that TASLPA got grant from World Health Organization (WHO) in recognition of their services. They congratulated and expressed sincere thanks to Dr T. Shankar Superintendent and Dr D. K. Veena, HOD of Govt ENT Hospital for extending all the support to TASLPA.
