The sky shrinks down into the abyss.
The fowls, once seers with the slithering wind, have broken their wings.
The mountains roar as they lose their grip to soar,
And the beasts of the land have fallen astray,
For they thirst for one another as prey.
The eternal flame burns a thousand souls each day.
Awake and undead, they live in the sun to mourn.
They grit their teeth.
They swallow their tongues.
They confess,
Yet forgiveness is not found.
No wrath remained in the flame,
Yet rivers of tears have been displayed.
Shadows of regret crept like worms inside the head,
tormented by memories of what was once said.
Now, eyes are deeply swollen, and their throats have been slit,
Still, they call on the Name above all names.
But this time,
The heavens did not answer.
And the Hand did not descend.
For the last truth had already spoken,
And none remained to listen.

Placed atop the highest mountains,
Where neither breeze nor sound could enter.
A thousand lifetimes walked through,
Yet peace upon the land had always remained just.

For the still waters began to ripple.
The most radiant reflections are now distorted,
The golden ceilings, the mighty pillars,
And their divine hues have been disfigured.
What was once clear and pure has become warped.
So too has the sacred order of the sanctuary, now scarred.
The light that once guided now blinds the enlightened.
Confusion sown corrupts its citizens.
Their tongues twist, their eyes roll upward,
Their hearts and minds lost to the dark.
What was bright has turned to black,
And evil now wears their noble mark.
Their spirits growl for hours as their teeth fall one by one.
They speak in tongues, bodies pressed to the ground.
Their veins burst, arms stretching beyond the breaking point.
Then came a seraphim
Wings once ablaze with dimmed valor.
He beheld the strong-willed angels fall,
Their halos cracked by a silent call.
Grief crushed his heart like a dying sun.
So he turned his blade inward,
And at Heaven's gates, his golden blood was shed.
The sky bore witness to a divine death.
It watched the darkness bloom below,
Weeping vengeance in a storm of daggers, cold and slow.
The grass turned silver with despair,
And the holy waters ran thick with blood, staining the sacred air.
