If a body is seventy percent water, and the water you drink is what continuously rebuilds it, then what kind of water are you building yourself out of?
We could not find an honest answer to that question in any of the bottled water we had grown up drinking. We could not find it in the RO under our own kitchens. We could not find it in the alkaline ioniser someone had gifted us. The category, in India, had never asked us this question. It had asked us instead about purification, about treatment, about how many stages of filtration the machine had and quietly stopped there.
Pikova exists because we wanted to ask the deeper question, and we believed the country was ready to hear it.
What we mean by the Art of Water
We use a phrase, on this brand and across everything we make. The Art of Water. We want to say what we mean by it, plainly.
The art is not the water. The art is the body.
The human body is, in our view, the most extraordinary thing the universe has produced. It holds awareness. It performs. It creates every art form India has ever known in paintings, sculptures, performing arts and textile arts that is Bharatanatyam, Kalamkari, Pattachitra, Hindustani classical, Pichwai, Phulkari, the bronzes of Tanjore, etc. Every one of these traditions exists only because there are bodies to make them. The body is the original canvas. Every other canvas is downstream of it.
And the body is, in actual chemistry, water. Seventy percent, by weight. Constantly turning over. Constantly being rebuilt from the water you drink. Water, in this sense, is the artist of every other artist who has ever lived. The painter of the painter. The dancer behind the dancer.
This is why Pikova believes water deserves intention. Because the most natural water makes the most natural body. And the most natural body is the most complete instrument for whatever art that body decides to do.
What we will not do
Pikova is a natural Himalayan mineral water brand. That means specific things, and we want to be clear about what we will not do as much as what we will.
We will not put our water through reverse osmosis. We will not strip the minerals and add a small selection of them back through the industrial process. We will not produce a flat, equalised, mineral-resimulated liquid and call it premium. The water we deliver is not engineered to a baseline and then dressed up. It is, as closely as we can manage, what the source gave us.
Our source is a Himalayan aquifer at a depth of more than 250 feet, in the Himalayan region.
The water in this aquifer has been moving through specific mineral-rich rock formations for decades before it reaches our extraction point. By the time it reaches the bottle, it has the composition that the geology of its source put into it which is calcium 32-45 mg/L, magnesium 5-7 mg/L, bicarbonates 130-160 mg/L, natural pH 7.8-8, TDS 240-280 mg/L and naturally occurring. Not added. Compliant with IS 13428:2024.
Our processing is restricted to minimal physical filtration that protects safety without altering the water's essential character. Our jars are migration-certified, used once per customer in our Non-Reusable Mode(NRM), and collected back into a closed-loop recovery system. We bottle at source, because moving water through high-pressure pipelines over long distances changes what it is.
We are, in the most direct sense, the logistics between the source and your home. That is our entire role.
Why Indian art is part of this brand
There is a question we have been asked since we started the company. Why does a water brand talk about Indian art so much?
The answer is in the manifesto. The body is the original art. The body is mostly water. Every Indian art form is performed by a body. Bharatanatyam is a body moving through a thousand-year-old vocabulary of gesture. Kalamkari is a body painting on cotton. A raga is a body breathing into a note. A Banarasi weave is a body, two hands, four heddles, and a sense of time.
Without the body, no art form exists. Without water, no body exists in the form it needs to be in.
Pikova is therefore, in the sequence of things that make Indian art possible, very near the start of the chain.
This is not a metaphor we are stretching for marketing. It is the actual chain of dependency. We believe that a water brand that takes its role seriously also takes the bodies that drink it seriously, and the art those bodies make seriously. So we are committing to platforming Indian art forms, state by state, year by year, across everything we produce our content, our partnerships, our launch event, our long-term creative direction.
What the choice actually is
Every reader of this piece will, later today, drink a glass of water. The question we want to leave is whether that glass is contributing to the natural body or to the engineered one.
If you have access to natural mineral water that has been sourced carefully and minimally processed, you are letting your body continue what it has been doing for two thousand years. If you are drinking water that has been aggressively stripped and then re-mineralised, you are quietly recomposing yourself from a different starting point.
There is no shame in the second choice. The category trained us into it for two decades. Most premium Indian homes have an RO running quietly under the kitchen counter and have not had reason to question it.
But the question is now open. And once it is open, it is hard to close.
We are not in a hurry. We are not the loudest. We are paying attention. And the Indian premium home that decides the water question matters now will, in our quiet opinion, be making the most consequential consumption decision in their kitchen.
