Tailorix is an Indian startup founded in June 2025 by Deepak Sharma, with Saloni Sachdeva later joining as Co-founder. Deepak Sharma, Founder & CEO, focuses on platform growth, operations and business development, while Saloni Sachdeva, Co-founder & Brands Head, brings a strong understanding of design, customer needs and brand communication. Together, they are building Tailorix with a clear mission: to help local tailors and home-based women get discovered online. The idea did not begin as a random app concept.
The team first observed the ground reality of India’s tailoring market. They met local tailors, spoke to shop owners, interacted with home-based women tailors and understood the problems they face. Many women were skilled in stitching suits, blouses, kidswear, alterations and boutique-style work, but they could not open a shop due to family responsibilities, cost, location issues or time limitations. Their work depended mostly on neighbours, relatives or old references. On the customer side, the struggle was different but connected. Customers wanted tailors near them, but they had no simple way to see who was available, what work they did, where they were located or whether they handled specific requirements. This made the process slow and unorganised.
Before building the app, the Tailorix team tested the idea through a website experience and collected practical feedback from tailors and users. This helped them understand that most local tailors did not need complicated software. They needed a simple online profile where they could upload work photos, mention services, share location and allow customers to contact them directly. Today, Tailorix works as a digital connecting platform where customers can discover nearby tailors, check work photos, compare profiles and directly contact them according to their requirement. For customers, it reduces the need to go market to market. For tailors, it works like an online dukaan where their work can be seen by more people in their area. One of the strongest focuses of Tailorix is to support women who stitch from home. Many such women do quality work but remain invisible because they do not have a formal shop. Tailorix gives them a chance to create their digital presence, show their skills and connect with customers searching for stitching services nearby. The platform follows a transparent model.
Tailorix does not guarantee fixed orders to tailors, because every order depends on customer demand, location, pricing, services, work photos and customer preference. Instead, it gives tailors visibility and gives customers an easier way to find and contact them. Tailorix also follows a 0% commission approach on orders. Once a customer connects with a tailor, the discussion and order process happen directly between them. This keeps the relationship simple and direct.
Speaking about the vision, Deepak Sharma and Saloni Sachdeva share, “Tailorix is built to give local tailors and home-based women a digital identity. We want customers to find nearby tailors easily, and we want skilled people to get visibility without needing a big shop or heavy investment.” Tailorix is not trying to replace traditional tailoring. It is trying to strengthen it by connecting old-school skill with today’s online search behaviour. With nearby discovery, online profiles and direct contact, Tailorix is making India’s local tailoring community more visible, organised and accessible.
