In a big city, a student with the same question has a tutor, a coaching institute and a dozen apps to turn to.
That gap is the reason Prepzy.ai exists.
Why they started Prepzy.ai
In India, a strong board result or a NEET seat often depends on coaching. The best coaching sits in big cities and costs more than most families can afford. Students in small towns and government schools are usually left to manage on their own once the school day ends.
Dr. Shivendu S. saw this up close during his years as an IAS officer. Talent was never the problem. Access was. Today he is a Professor at the University of South Florida, but that gap stayed with him.
Arun Reddy, a Carnegie Mellon University alumnus, was asking the same question from the technology side. Could AI give every student a personal tutor that is always available and never runs out of patience?
In February 2024, the two founded Prepzy.ai under GlobusLearn Services India Private Limited, with one goal: a student's preparation should depend on effort, not on where they live or what their family can pay.
A learning companion, not just another app
Prepzy.ai is an AI-powered learning companion. Think of it as a personal tutor in a student's pocket. It first finds out where the student is strong and where they are struggling, then guides them on what to study next.
When a doubt comes up, the student does not have to wait for the next class. Prepzy's AI tutor answers right away, by text or voice, in Hindi or English. Every lesson and test is built around the exact syllabus the student will be examined on.
Today Prepzy.ai covers CBSE for Classes 6 to 12, along with NEET.
Reaching the students who need it most
Prepzy.ai is now used in more than 100 schools by over 40,000 students. That includes government schools in Jharkhand and Delhi, where most students have never had access to private tuition.
INSPIRE: giving students a reason to aim higher
In many of these schools, doing well in class earns a good report card and little else. INSPIRE is Prepzy.ai's programme to change that, for students learning on Prepzy.ai in its partner schools.
The top performer in each class gets their school fees sponsored for the academic year. They also get sessions with guest speakers, letters of recommendation and study kits. Teachers and schools that help students do well are recognised too.
For a family where fees are a real burden, that support can matter as much as the marks. And for every other student in the class, it sends a simple message: hard work gets noticed.
What comes next
With CBSE and NEET live, Prepzy.ai is now expanding into state boards and more competitive exams.
The scale is growing, but the founding question has not changed. Whether a student lives in a metro or a small town, studies in a government school or a private one, Dr. Shivendu S. and Arun Reddy believe she deserves the same chance to be ready on exam day. Prepzy.ai is their answer.
