KARATE IN SCHOOLS: KAB INITIATES DIALOGUE TO STRENGTHEN SPORTS EDUCATION IN WEST BENGAL

The discussion focused on creating greater opportunities for school students to learn and participate in Karate through a structured and organised approach, with the broader objective of integrating sports with education and encouraging healthy, disciplined and confident young citizens.

Karate is not merely a medal-winning sport. It is a powerful medium for developing discipline, self-confidence, concentration, physical fitness, respect, character and leadership qualities among children.

“Our vision is clear—Karate in Schools, Stronger Youth and Stronger Bengal. We believe every child should have the opportunity to experience the values of sport alongside education. Karate can play a meaningful role in shaping disciplined, confident and responsible citizens,” said Hanshi Premjit Sen.

The initiative reflects KAB’s continued commitment to taking Karate beyond the competitive arena and making it accessible to students at the grassroots level. Greater exposure to organised Karate in schools can provide young talents with a pathway to develop their sporting abilities while simultaneously building essential life skills.

With its extensive grassroots network across West Bengal, the Karate Do Association of Bengal remains committed to working towards the wider development and promotion of Karate among school-going children and youth.
