The Question That Changed Everything
After spending years in the Middle East working on some of the most complex high-rise structures, commercial towers, airport projects, and mixed-use developments that now define Dubai's iconic skyline, Sandeep had mastered his craft at the highest level.
He had worked with international design codes - ACI, BS, CEB-FIP - the kind of standards most Indian engineers only read about in textbooks. He had earned a structural license from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation with no height restriction - one of the most demanding technical certifications in the country, granted only after rigorous expert assessment.
He could have stayed.
He didn't.

Coming Home - Not to Retire, But to Build
When Sandeep came back to India, he didn't come back with a briefcase and a corner office plan. He came back with a mission.
He founded Econstruct Design & Build Pvt. Ltd.- not just as an engineering firm, but as proof that world-class structural thinking could be rooted right here in India. Today, the firm has delivered over 80 projects worth approximately ₹3000 crore. It's a multidisciplinary consultancy that brings together structural design, BIM, project management, and construction - all under one roof.
But here's the part they won't teach you in college.
The Gap Nobody Was Talking About
Sandeep noticed something that many in the industry quietly acknowledge but few address head-on: there is a wide, uncomfortable gap between what engineering students learn in classrooms and what the construction/engineering industry actually demands.
Most young engineers graduate knowing theory. The real world asks for non-linear analysis, earthquake engineering, dynamic structural behaviour, performance-based design, creep and shrinkage - and the ability to use advanced software with confidence.
Nobody was bridging that gap systematically.
So Sandeep did.
