Darbhanga, Bihar | June 4, 2025: Darbhanga has once again made its mark in the field of sports. Four young karate athletes from the district have been selected to represent Bihar at the 4th KIO National Sub-Junior, Cadet & Junior Karate Championship, to be held in Dehradun from June 12 to 15, 2025.
Mukesh Mishra, a senior karate coach from Darbhanga, has been appointed as the official coach of the Bihar team for this national-level event. Mishra has been serving as a senior coach for the Bihar state karate team since 2017. Under his guidance, many players from Bihar have earned accolades in national school games, National federation championships, and All India University Karate Tournaments.
Selected Athletes:
Rudra Raman – Sub-Junior Category, 12 years boys, -40 kg
Jiya Raj – Sub-Junior, 13 years Girls Category, -35 kg
Yuvraj Adarsh – Junior Category (-61 kg)
Preyansh – Junior Category (-76 kg)
The players were selected based on their outstanding performance in the state-level championship organized by the State Karate Association of Bihar (SKAB). SKAB is affiliated with the Karate India Organization (KIO), which is recognized by both the Asian Karate Federation and the World Karate Federation.
On this achievement, SKAB President Abhay Kumar, General Secretary Pankaj Kambli, and Treasurer Suraj Kumar extended their congratulations to the coach and athletes.
Rajeev Ranjan, President of the Karate Association of Darbhanga, and Dr. Nirbhay Shankar Bhardwaj, Chief Advisor, also expressed their joy, stating,
“This is a proud moment for the sports community of Darbhanga. We are confident that these athletes will showcase an excellent performance in Dehradun and bring glory to both the district and the state.”
