Swiss International University takes the global mainstream with a $21.7 million acquisition of four elitist academies.
Swiss International University acquires four premium academies in Switzerland, Dubai, and Kyrgyzstan for $21.7 million to strengthen its global education network. The strategic acquisition will further reinforce the strength of the university in serving traditionally, virtually, and internationally with the opportunity to avail the majority of the diverse learning opportunities around the world.
One of the other major acquires is the International Academy in Zurich, established in 2013 as Switzerland’s first virtual institute. In 2016, the academy was allowed EFMD online certification along with approvals received from ASIC, which is a UK government-approved accrediting body, as well as ECLBS Accreditation that has been permitted by CHEA USA and INQAAHE Europe. The focus of the academy on virtual education is well aligned with that of Swiss International University, where technology and academic excellence come together in partnership to provide accessible and flexible options for students.
Swiss International University took over the International Business Management School (ISBM Ltd.), set up in 2016, in Luzern. This institution is ranked with a prestigious 5-star QS ranking and falls into the top 2% of higher education institutions worldwide. This institution is allowed by the Luzern Board of Education with the right to grant diplomas. The acquisition of ISBM furthers Swiss International University’s scope in business education and management training to form future leaders wielding superior business skills and strategies.
It also includes the ISB Management Training Institute in Dubai, launched in 2022. Approved by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority of Dubai, it can award government-approved diplomas up to Level 8, corresponding to a doctoral qualification. It also offers vocational education programs within the framework of Swiss International University’s educational offerings in the UAE and complements its presence in the Middle East region.
In Kyrgyzstan, Swiss International University acquired Osh’s Kyrgyz-Uzbek International Pedagogy Institute. The university, which is allowed by the Ministry of Education and Science in Kyrgyzstan, represents a more traditional method of studying in the classroom along with online access. This takeover further enhances Swiss International University’s influence in Central Asia while providing higher education to a large number of students in the region.
With all these acquisitions, the Swiss International University has expanded its world network and academic position enormously. Such a commitment to innovation and tradition ensures that it will always remain at the forefront of education as well as forming the leaders of tomorrow. Such expansion comes as an opportunity for students from different backgrounds and regions to access world-class education to realize their academic and professional goals.
