On the first day of the last month of the year 2024, gathered some of the finest talents of India & abroad at the Indian Changemakers Awards 2024. One was greeted by a room full of glorious faces & bright smiles, each telling a story of greatness & victorious resurrection.

Among them was, Apurva Kaushik Sharma, child safety educator and author being awarded for herdebut children’s book “Sweet Surprise or Sour Secret “. This award for the “Excellence in writing children’s book with a social impact” was rather special as it fulfilled a greater purpose. Theauthor penned the book, with the goal to reach every child & help prevent child sexual abuse. The award is a testament to the power of the book to make the tough conversation of safe and unsafe touch (good and bad touch) easy. A tool for every parent and every teacher to empower the future generations of the country &ensure their happy childhood.

The awardees were honored to receive the award from celebrated author, Ravinder Singh.Moreover, there was much appreciation for the organizers, Anecdote Publishing House, Ed Innova & Astro Answer for the incredible eventand forbringing “change-making” talent together.

I am deeply honored to receive the Indian Changemakers Award 2024. This moving moment serves as an encouragement to do better and achieve more. Authoring a fiction book requires significant time, effort, imagination, and, of course, literary acumen. Receiving recognition for one’s work is a testament that these efforts are not in vain.

We are often reminded to write for ourselves first, and I couldn’t agree more. Anything worthwhile begins within us, allowing us to then share our creativity with the others. Let's face it though, we live in a competitive world which compels us to excel objectively and not just personally. As I wrote in my book, i$ubscribe: "An understanding is as good as its reach, grasp, and acceptance." This applies to our work as well. Without acknowledgment, our efforts would be akin to George Berkeley's philosophical question: "If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it make a sound?" For anything to truly exist, it must be recognized. The Indian Changemakers Award does this, not only for authors but for all forms of literary work.

This journey has been a blend of passion and persistence. Yet it is far from being solely my achievement. My husband and daughter have inspired and encouraged me to carve my path in the literary world. They have been my driving force, propelling me to pursue my dreams and ambitions. The inner drive to express our fertile imagination and the passion to tell stories are what set the foundation for any writer.

The monetary policy statement on 5^th April 2024 has highlighted that "Two years ago, around this time, when CPI inflation had peaked at 7.8 per cent in April 2022, the elephant in the room was inflation. The elephant has now gone out for a walk and appears to be returning to the forest. We would like the elephant to return to the forest and remain there on a durable basis. " In other words, it is essential, in the best interest of the economy, that CPI inflation continues to moderate and aligns to the target on a durable basis. Now, to what extent the statement that the “elephant is returning towards forest” and accordingly, the CPI would move towards its target rate 4 per cent could be relied upon?

According to the Monetary Policy Report April 2024, “Headline CPI inflation” moderated to 5.3 per cent in October 2023-February 2024 from an average of 5.5 per cent in H1:2023-24. Sporadic food price shocks continued to impart significant volatility to the inflation trajectory, with headline inflation rising sharply in November and December 2023 due to a spike in vegetable prices.

The major perpetrator, therefore, remains recurring food price shocks that is hindering the ongoing disinflation process and monetary policy needed to remain actively disinflationary to ensure anchoring of inflation expectations and maximum transmission.Erratic supply side shocks from adverse climate events and their impact on agricultural production as also geo-political tensions and spillovers to trade and commodity markets add uncertainties to the outlook. Adverse weather events and lingering geopolitical conflicts remain the majorthreats.The global food price outlook is also subject to significant upside risks from the historically unprecedented heat wave sweeping across the globe. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast above-normal temperatures and heatwave days during the summer season. Climate change has increased the frequency and ferocity of weather shocks.

The RBI’s baseline assumptions for projections for crude oil (Indian basket) remains at US$ 85 per barrel during 2024-25. According to the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC), Crude Oil Indian Basket as on 04.04.2024 is $ 89.84/bb. Whether the crude oil could hit $100/barrel is an open question.

Core inflation (i.e., CPI excluding food and fuel) has, however, been on a progressively declining path. In February 2024, it dropped to 3.4 per cent, among the lowest prints in the current CPI series (2012=100), driven by both core goods and services components. The cumulative ratehike remains in aggregate at 250 basis points (bps) during May 2022-February.In fact, SMEs have felt the heat of the so-called “higher for longer”. In recent times, automative sector has expressed fear about retail sales could be hit adversely due to higher real rates, especially entry-level vehicles.

RBI’s survey reveals that, services sector companies expect higher input cost pressures and growth in selling prices in Q1:2024-25, while infrastructure firms expect higher input cost pressures but lower growth in selling prices.In the PMI surveys, manufacturing firms reported increased input cost pressures but slower output price increases in March 2024. Services firms reported higher input and output prices, with a marked increase in the rate of inflation in March 2024. The projections of CPI inflation of   4.5 per cent in 2024-25 – 4.9 percent in Q1, 3.8 per cent in Q2, 4.6 per cent in Q3 and4.5 per cent in Q4 could be jeopardised if the persistence food price shock does not subside and/or geopolitical conflicts continue. A disturbing trend is that while core inflation is declining and supporting the efforts at moving towards the “target rate” the food inflation, supply chain disruptions due to exogenous factors are prolonging the rate softening expectations.

While advising the children, he said that their aim at this stage should not be to prove themselves but to find themselves. Chandrayaan 3, India's lunar exploration program, has been a trailblazing endeavour launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Chandrayaan represents India's dedication to unravelling the mysteries of the Moon and contributing to the global space community's understanding of lunar geology, atmosphere, and resources.

The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 is not only marked another historic achievement for India but is also unlock new avenues of scientific discovery and exploration, shaping the future of lunar research.

Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2 to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar surface. It consists of Lander and Rover configuration. It has been launched by LVM3 from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota. The propulsion module carring the lander and rover configuration till 100 km lunar orbit. The propulsion module has Spectro-polarimetry of Habitable Planet Earth (SHAPE) payload to study the spectral and Polari metric measurements of Earth from the lunar orbit.

The mission objectives of Chandrayaan-3

1. To demonstrate Safe and Soft Landing on Lunar Surface

2. To demonstrate Rover roving on the moon and

3. To conduct in-situ scientific experiments.

Chandrayaan-3 has been made more robust by improvements in Lander to handle more dispersion, improvements in sensors, software and propulsion systems, full level redundancies in addition to exhaustive simulations and additional tests being conducted towards ensuring a higher degree of ruggedness in the lander.

Chandrayaan-3 in comparison to Chandrayaan-2 has been designed with the capabilities to autonomously handle wide range of dispersion in order to achieve soft and safe landing.

The Hindmotor Education Centre, situated in Hooghly District, has once again proved its excellence by hosting the "2nd Bengal Shotokan Karate Do Championship & SKIO Independence Cup 2023" on 19th and 20th August 2023. The school, known for its commitment to quality education, took the initiative to organize this state-level Karate Championship under the banner of Shotokan Karate Do International Organization - West Bengal and Amateur Ashitedo Akhada Association. The event was a grand success, witnessing the presence of 300 selected participants from all over Bengal. The Tournament Director, Mr Ashraf Ali, exclaimed, "This is the biggest quality Karate Event in Hooghly District under SKIO West Bengal," expressing his delight with the event's grandeur. To add to the excitement, FIT India Ambassador Gaurav Goswami, a 4th Dan Black Belt in Karate and 3rd Dan Black Belt in Kickboxing, graced the event with his presence as a Special Guest of Honour. The audience was thrilled to have Mr Goswami amongst them, who encouraged and motivated the participants to push their limits and perform their best. Overall, the event was a true showcase of grit, determination, and skill, with the participants exhibiting their martial arts expertise. Hindmotor Education Centre has yet again proven its mettle, and the school and its faculty are proud of hosting such an excellent Karate Championship. Former World Yoga Champion – 2016, Yoga Madhumitha sets a new record in Asian Yogasana Sports Championship by winning 3 medals in senior women's category.
