They say “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” But in this particular case, the talent did work hard and contributed more than 30 years of her life to Theatre, Television, Feature Films, Documentaries, AD Films, Docu Dramas, Radio Plays, Short films and what not.
Jagruti Thakore the very well-known face of Gujrati Cinema is making the nation proud with her amazing work and dedication towards acting and directing. With a whooping total of more than 850 shows of 48 plays that includes adaptation of American/French/Russian plays, acting in 24 Television serials,20 feature films which include 1 Hollywood and 2 Hindi films, working in 167 Documentaries, 42 AD films, 33 Docu dramas, 10 Radio plays and 12 Short Films her experience of the acting world is undeniably exceptional. But her exploring nature didn’t limit her work to acting only, her love for directing peeked out and she started directing plays, documentaries, tele films and docu dramas too.
The statement may appear exaggerated but “the art of theatre is known to be the oldest, most powerful, most immediate of the arts, combining the many in one”- Max Reinhardt. Keeping this form alive is one the responsibilities of our generation and Jagruti took this initiative and kept the artform alive by acting in more than 850 shows which may sound untrue but it isn’t. Her dedication towards her art form is what makes that possible. For which she was a recipient of “Cine Life 2005 Award” towards contribution in the theatre.
The most prominent performance of hers was playing Rudi in the movie Hellaro. The movie has brilliant performances, outstanding choreography, and cinematography that makes the vast, barren landscape of Kutch look beautiful are perfectly backed by a basic storey conveyed in a strong way, sentences that hit you hard, and music that has a lasting effect. The movie “Hellaro” won national film award for best feature film. Which was a jaw dropping moment for the whole Gujrati Cinema.
If we are going to continue her work contributions, we will never reach the point where she got awarded. The Hollywood Film “journey of Mr Deshee” in which she acted, won more than 17 international Awards while The Gujrati film “Bawari: won total 11 Awards. Jagruti won 1st prize in Transmedia Screen and stage awards 2012 also won more than 35 awards in different competition. Various nominations for best actress are also registered in her name. She was selected as “model of the week” by times of India and “Cover girl” by Chitralekha Magazine.
Her soft skills make her the most ideal co-worker you could possibly want for. She has a pleasant demeanour and a strong work ethic. She can adjust to any scenario and handle problems without making a big deal out of it. Jagruti Thakore participation in this profession is notable. She is ecstatic
to work on huge projects with Hollywood producers and to star with dignitaries. Her career has much more to offer to the whole film industry and there are many more planned films in which you will see the actress.
