As cities grow and urban living becomes more prevalent, affordable and community-based housing solutions are increasingly vital. Homey, a forward-thinking social venture, is reshaping co-living by offering wellness-focused, community-driven, and cost-effective housing tailored for students and migrant workers.
Recently honored with the prestigious “NGO of the Year Award for Women Empowerment” at the Fortune Leadership Awards, in partnership with The Economic Times, Homey has earned recognition for integrating self-defense martial arts training for young women in its co-living spaces. This accolade highlights Homey’s dedication to resident safety, empowerment, and comprehensive support.
A Mission Centered on Empowerment and Growth
Homey’s vision goes beyond simply providing housing. Grounded in its core principles—Community, Authenticity, Respect, Empowerment, and Sustainability (CARES)—Homey fosters an inclusive environment that encourages both personal and professional development. Residents are motivated to connect, evolve individually, and reach their full potential, making Homey not just a place to live, but a thriving community.
Focus on Wellness and Balanced Living
“Homey’s hybrid approach blends personal, social, and professional aspects, ensuring that residents experience a well-rounded life. We prioritize wellness through a range of programs and community events that enhance mental, physical, and emotional health. Our thoughtfully designed spaces support academic and career growth, helping our residents lead balanced, fulfilling lives,” shared Homey Founder and CEO, Madhukant Das.
Affordable Housing for All
Affordability is at the heart of Homey’s mission. With clear, transparent pricing and discounted rates for students, Homey makes quality housing accessible to all. Its collaboration with ISKCON Dwarka offers heavily subsidized living spaces for students and migrant workers from underprivileged backgrounds, while also providing access to value-driven educational opportunities.
Expanding Reach and Social Impact
Homey’s rapid growth reflects its success in meeting a significant need. In just two months, it has launched 500 beds in Delhi’s North Campus and Dwarka areas. By the end of its first year, Homey plans to provide over 2,000 beds in Delhi and Bangalore, with a target of 5,000 beds by March 2026, expanding to Pune, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad.
“Homey’s impact extends beyond expansion. Initiatives like self-defense training for women tackle societal challenges, empowering our residents and fostering a culture of safety and resilience,” stated Mr. Das.
